December Favorites!

Holy wow, this blog is officially a month old today!

In honour of that, the end of the year (woah?), and the end of December, it’s time to round up my beauty favourites of the month.

The Tarte Tartelette palette - I’ve been able to create some really amazingly subtle daytime looks to perfect dark eyes that compliment a pinky nude with just this palette. I’ve been a little muted and demure when it comes to eyes, even for Christmas (my holiday shimmer usually comes from highlighters), so this was a perfect palette.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Standout - Good God, this stayed put all Christmas dinner long, which had an array of steaks and pasta. It even left a beautiful even stain by the end of the night. Best part is how totally non-drying it is, despite it being matte! And that gorgeous red is the perfect color for the holidays (or every day!!!!!).

L’Oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza in Profound Black - I know everyone sings praises for the Maybelline alternative, but I own both and this one has just consistently proved to be better. It’s creamy and has never dried out in its jar, whereas my Maybelline probably needs to be dropped in a glass of warm water. It also stays on all day and all night, and the packaging with the glass jar and the gold lid is just so much more appealing to me!

Naturactor Cream Concealer in 141 - I was in Japan when I picked this up. It’s kind of a big deal here in Manila, but it’s grossly overpriced sometimes. In Japan, you don’t find these in any of the major drugstores. You have to go to an actual department store and look specifically for the old lady makeup lol.

A lovely old lady at the counter helped choose the shade for my face, and decided on 141. It’s got pink undertones and perfect for light-medium skin. I love using this as a concealer for my under eyes because it just… erases them completely. It used to crease before but I actually use a neat little trick to prevent that! (Lol teaser for future posts)

Ellana Loose Mineral Powder in Chai Tea Latte - A friend sold this to me because she apparently bought the wrong color for her. It’s barely even been used but she gave it to me for, like, half the price! Ellana had made the rounds all over the beauty blogging community over here, and I have to confess that I’m super late to the party!

Chai Tea Latte is perfect. I barely even look like I’m wearing makeup, even though the coverage is pretty respectable!

And there you have it! I’m in the process of going more in-depth with these products, so stay tuned!

What are your beauty favourites for December?

    1. It's lovely! I think the quality is pretty good for an all-matte palette--the lighter colors are just a tad chalky but still totally manageable. With primer, they lasted a solid 8 hours on me!

  2. I still haven't tried that gel liner and I really need to! Everyone loves it! I also desperately need a new liner! Totally agree, those Revlon balms are amazing!

    1. It's awesome! Glides on like butter! Yesss, the Revlon balms are crazy! I can't believe how comfortable they are!
