{ Review | Make Up } Pink Sugar HD Lipstick in Rebel

I’m a pink lipstick kind of cat. If I’m not buying pinks, I’m often buying nudes. That said, I’ve been on the hunt for some suitable reds for a polished everyday look. Since this brand was making the rounds and I was pretty curious about the quality, I took the chance and ordered it online.

Pink Sugar’s HD Lipstick claims a number of things:

 -A creamy lipstick for high-definition, high-impact color.
-Delivers maximum color payoff in a variety of highly-pigmented shades; formulated with vitamin E and shea butter to moisturize, nourish, and soften lips during use; glides on smoothly and blends easily
 -Brightening up your beauty look.

Packaging is cute, though not super classy. I think it’s super practical, though, because when I’m going through my makeup bag looking for this among all my black lipstick cases, it stands out immediately.

Rebel is a gorgeous shade. It’s a deep blue-red that reminds me a whole lot of Janelle Monae. Surprising because I always tend to associate reds with Taytay. Here are a bunch of pictures I took outside.

I think this is probably what most people would call a classic red. It’s honestly a beautiful color that I’m sure anybody could pull off. It’s incredibly flattering on my skin tone. It applies creamy and has a bit of a satin finish. The pay-off is amazing.

It’s not drying, but from a lipstick this creamy I wouldn’t have expected it to be anyway. It glides on like butter, by the way, so yay. And yes, it does brighten up my look! Most of my lipsticks are matte, and this is probably the first I’ve bought that isn’t in such a long time. It says a lot that I keep it in my purse!

But it does transfer everywhere and wear-time is a little bit underwhelming (maybe 2-3 hours at best?). It leaves a slight stain after eating, but it’s not like a pretty stain—it’s a patchy stain that I’m not too fond of. Also, because it's so creamy it's so hard to put on without making a bit of a mess, so definitely wear this with a lipliner. I imagine using a lip brush would help with application too.

But still, long-wear isn’t really a part of its claims. In all other aspects, this is a great lipstick to own and for a price that you can’t beat. I would love to try the rest of the colors, just because it has such amazing pay-off and it's totally non-drying.
