Chocolate Honey, Fig, Chihuahua, Lady Balls
Christmas is fast approaching and riding on its coattails are makeup holiday collections! Without even missing a beat, I can say that yes! This is my favourite time of the year! I love Christmas! I love holiday songs blaring in the mall, I love the lights decorating everything from my neighbourhood to the high way, Christmas gifting, and most of all, I love Christmas makeup.

Normally, you'd find some great deals around this time. Real bang for your buck type of stuff, with terrific quality at a price point you can't beat. But mostly, you'll find some really cheap holiday sets with awful quality. But one thing's for sure: this time of the year always manages to churn out some of the best packaging.

The box it came with was very, very cute. Super Christmas-y and pink! I love it. The Melted lipsticks come in these matte tubes with gold details, their respective colours reflecting the lipstick shade. The Melted Matte is housed in this kind of rectangular plastic tube that's really cute and fancy.

Hella cute box.
I picked up Too Faced's Merry Kissmas: The Ultimate Liquified Lipstick Set. I actually didn't own a single thing from Too Faced until this one. I've been very curious about their Melted lipsticks, and this set is such a great way to give them a try. These retail for $25, and I got them from a local seller from PHP 1300.

They come in deluxe sizes, not full sizes.

This set contains:

  • 0.16 oz Deluxe Melted Chocolate Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chocolate Honey
  • 0.16 oz Deluxe Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua
  • 0.16 oz Deluxe Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Fig
  • 0.12 oz Deluxe Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Lady Balls

This is a great set with beautiful colours and they smell just like cocoa! If this doesn't get you in the Christmas spirit, I don't know what will. Between this and my Tartelette in Bloom, I can just keep sniffing them both all day. (Not kidding)

L-R: Chocolate Honey, Chihuahua, Fig, Lady Balls

Chocolate Honey is a brown, peachy colour. Great nude. This stands out against my fair skin, but I love the brown tone of it. Chihuahua is a peachy pink colour--it's also a nude that leans more towards peach. Some say this is mauve, but it pulls quite peach on me. Fig is a purple-y plum colour--it's a light berry that is perfect for the season. Lady Balls (/cackles forever) is a beautiful red. I can see it working across all skin tones. The first three don't really dry down matte (or heck, really dry down at all), but the Melted Matte dries down very well.

I have very dry lips, so if a lipstick manages to keep that at bay, I consider it very good. Sadly, these do dry your lips a teeny bit. Some prepping for your lips should fix that.

The Melted Lipsticks aren't very drying, but neither are they hydrating. The Melted Matte, though, is lightweight and comfortable. A lot of times I forgot I was even wearing it. It is a little drying, as expected of matte liquid lipsticks, but nothing anyone can't handle. My lips are hella dry and I didn't mind too much.

The formula for the Melted Lipsticks might seem sheer at first swipe, but they're incredibly build able and you only need to squeeze the bottle once. Just keep swiping along your lips and the colour begins to build up. I've only squeezed each bottle once, have used them thrice already, and haven't needed to squeeze the bottle again yet. The applicator absorbs the product, but it manages to spread it on your lips with no problem.

The Melted Matte is very easy to spread. One layer for Lady Balls is enough--it's opaque and beautiful with just that. I honestly think that's the best formula for matte liquid lipsticks, as you don't want to keep having to layer the colour or else it starts to crumble or feels heavy and bleh. With a single layer, I haven't experienced any crumbling.

They do take awhile to dry, and they're not completely transfer proof. Lady Balls lasts awhile, and fades nicely too, but the rest of the liquid lipsticks aren't very long lasting.

Worth it?

This is a great set if you want to give Too Faced's Melted lipsticks a try. But even if you already own a couple, but want to try these specific colours out, I think it's a fantastic deal for its price. You get a great variety of colours that range from a nude to a striking red. The formula is great and it's perfect for the holidays. I can't recommend it enough. Buy it for yourself, give it to a friend, or do both!
